Talking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said the young delegates from 28 states and 8 Union Territories will be participating in the youth festival to showcase their talent. There will be a variety of cultural and sports activities during all seven days. It is for the first time the National Youth Festival is being held in the north Karnataka region and it will help the youth to come up in all the fields, he noted.

‘Population is our asset’

The CM said Prime Miniter Narendra Modi has never considered the population as a burden, but as an asset. “Nearly 46 per cent of the country’s population is youth and several programmes have been chalked out to engage them in nation-building. Modi has formulated schemes like New Education Policy and Atma Nirbhar Bharat. The visit of Modi will inspire the youth. All preparations have been made for Modi’s visit to Hubballi. Though there will be no roadshow by the PM, the people are allowed to stand on both sides of the road from the airport up to the venue. The PM will acknowledge the people’s response”, he said.

‘Truth will come out’

Bommai said ‘Santro’ Ravi has 20 years of history and which government was in power and with whom the accused had connection is already known. Instructions have given to the police to confiscate the assets of the accused and to conduct a probe into his misdeeds. “The probe will bring out the truth”, he added.

Clarity on reservation

Asked about the deadline set by the seer regarding the reservation for the Panchamasali community, the CM said already a decision had been taken regarding the communities that will come in the 2A category. “The increase in the reservation will be known in the coming days after the final orders of the Permanent Backward Classes Commission. The Commission has been asked to submit its final findings as early as possible and there will clarity after that”, he said.

Hubballi-Dharwad Mayor Eeresh Anchatageri, MLA Aravind Bellad, Prasad Abbaiah, Karnataka Cancer Therapy and Research Centre president Dr B R Patil and others were present.
