Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address five rallies over the next two days in north Karnataka.

BENGALURU: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch his campaign blitzkrieg on Saturday, which will vote in the third phase of the Lok Sabha election on May 7. The PM will address five rallies in two days covering 11 Lok Sabha seats of the remaining 14 constituencies.

On Sunday, PM Modi will address four rallies in Belagavi, Sirsi in Uttara Kannada, Davanagere and Ballari and stay overnight at Hosapete after attending a rally. On Monday, he will address a massive rally in Bagalkot.

The PM will arrive in Belagavi from Goa on Saturday evening by road and stay overnight, becoming the first PM since Independence to stay there. He will stay at the ITC Welcome hotel near Kakati where the SPG has already carried out sanitisation.

In view of security, Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil has issued orders banning the use of drones from 6 am on Saturday till 6 pm on Sunday while the entire taluk has been declared a red zone.

A huge pandal has been erected at Malini City for the rally and the PM will also meet some local leaders including Dr Nayana Basme of Savadatti, Dr Rajeshwari Odeyar of Gokak, Subhash Sannaveerappanavara of Kittur and Balesh Chouhan of Khanapur.

Arrangements have also been made for the rally at Davanagere high school grounds and the PM is expected to arrive there by helicopter. A massive pandal has been erected on 15 acres of land and over one lakh people are expected to attend. He will later leave for Hosapete where he will address another rally.
