BENGALURU: Following complaints from some quarters, the PG owners’ welfare association has now requested the police to create awareness among inmates of women’s paying guest accommodations on maintaining a dress code and following timings. The association feels that having some sort of dress code is important as far as the safety of women is concerned and pointed out that most PG owners are helpless in this regard.

Of late, evening outings, dinner with friends, having parties late in the night have increased. If any untoward incident occurs, the PG owners left to take the blame. Hence, the police should release guidelines for PG accommidations, the association has requested.

Arunkumar D T, president of PG Owners Welfare Association said, “In women’s PGs, the inmates wear inappropriate outfits, stay out even at midnight, and party at pubs. The PG owners have already fixed timings for the inmates. If Police Department issues a set of guidelines to the PGs and create awareness among the inmates, it will be very helpful from the safety point of view”.
