Petrol price to rise by Rs 3, diesel by Rs 3.5 p/lt in Karnataka after state govt hikes taxes

BENGALURU: In a shock for citizens of the state, the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government has increased taxes by about 4 per cent on petrol and diesel which will lead to a rise in fuel prices.

The price of petrol will now rise by Rs 3 per litre while the price of diesel will increase by Rs 3.50 per litre. This comes after the state government raised taxes on petrol by 3.9 per cent from 25.92 per cent to 29.84 per cent, and n diesel by 4.1 per cent from 14.34 per cent to 18.44 per cent.
