Parents of girl who was assaulted at madrasa claim they were threatened

BENGALURU: The parents of a girl, who was assaulted at a madrasa, have filed a complaint alleging that they were threatened by the madrasa authorities to withdraw the case.

The accused, Hasan, was arrested by the Kothanur police after CCTV footage of the assault went viral. Following the arrest, the madrasa was closed temporarily and members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) also visited the place.

Laws to help you tackle threat calls - iPleadersNow, a new complaint has been filed alleging that the madrasa authorities, Anwar Ali and Hasan Musmil, threatened the parents to withdraw the case. The girl child’s mother complained to Yeshwantpur police station. The police have registered a (non-cognizable offence) NCR after receiving the complaint. The authorities also allegedly threatened the lawyer, Hussain Owais, who is representing the parents.

The parents claimed that the duo further threatened to cut the lawyer’s tongue. They also threatened they would kill the child’s father and kidnap another daughter.
