BENGALURU: Actor Darshan, currently in jail in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, is spending Deepavali without lights this year. Due to severe back pain, the jail authorities have recommended physiotherapy sessions.

Darshan, who used to celebrate Deepavali with his family, is now stuck in jail. Last year, he was released from Ballari jail on Deepavali and spent time at home. However, this year, he is in the Bengaluru central jail, where he is being kept in a quarantine cell with minimal facilities.

The jail authorities have provided Darshan with a heating belt and chair for his back pain. The central jail hospital chief doctor has written to the CV Raman Hospital medical superintendent, requesting a team of doctors to visit the jail and conduct physiotherapy sessions for Darshan.

Darshan’s legal battle seems to be a lonely one, with his wife Vijayalakshmi being his only support. He has reportedly become withdrawn and expresses his frustration with his fellow inmates in the barracks.
