‘Papa, don’t have courage to speak to you’: JEE aspirant dies by suicide in Kota

KOTA (Rajasthan): A student preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) allegedly died by suicide in Rajasthan’s Kota, police said on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Abhishek, a native of Bihar’s Bhagalpur district who was living in a paying guest (PG) accommodation near Tirupati Hotel in Kota’s Vigyan Nagar, police said.

The PG owner informed the police after the student had not come out of his room on Friday. When police reached the spot and entered the room from the back door, they found the student lying in an unconscious state in his room.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharamveer Singh found a ‘suicide note’ written on a yellow paper in the room in which it was written, “Papa, I will not be able to pass JEE. I do not have the courage to speak to you. I quit”.

The police have kept the body in the mortuary and have informed the family about the incident. More details are awaited.

in July last year, another student preparing for JEE allegedly died by suicide in Kota. According to Circle Inspector of Police (CI) Kota Paramjit Singh, the police received information about the death of a student due to suicide in Kota’s Mahaveer Nagar.

The official also stated that the reason for the suicide was not yet ascertained and that the student was preparing for the IIT-JEE. The official further said that a probe has been initiated to ascertain the exact reason behind the student taking the extreme step. (ANI)
