CHIKKABALLAPUR: Activists of the Bajrang Dal rescued more than 30 cows that were being allegedly illegally taken to a slaughter house, near Peresandra in the taluk on Saturday .
The cows were being transported from Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh to Bengaluru in a container truck. The Bajrang Dal activists followed the truck from Bagepalli to Peresandra and stopped it near the Peresandra underpass on the national highway.
Upon opening the container, several cows were found. The Peresandra police visited the spot and sent the cows to shelter. A case has been registered in this connection.
