BENGALURU: After the incident where pro-Pakistan slogans were raised in the corridors of Vidhana Soudha, the seat of power, during the celebration of Congress Rajya Sabha candidate Syed Naseer Hussain’s Rajya Sabha poll victory, question are being raised about how safe the Vidhana Soudha is.

As per information available, there are 89 CCTV cameras in the entire Vidhana Soudha, out of which only 16 are working. The CCTV cameras seem to have been installed in most places only for sake of it as, except in some parts of the major four entrances of Vidhana Soudha, they have stopped functioning for several months.

When it comes to security, a single DCP has to ensure security to ten government buildings under his jurisdiction, but only 108 personnel are posted. Besides this, many people enter inside the building without any visitor pass and some visitors use the names of politicians.

The gaping holes in the security set-up has raised several questions about its efficiency.
