SHIVAMOGGA: One person was brutally stabbed while three others were injured and in a clash between youths of two communities over a trivial reason at Gandhi Circle in Bhadravathi late on Sunday.
Last month, Gautham had uploaded a status message on social media as part of his birthday celebration and Zaheer had teased him about int. On Sunday night, Harish, Gautam and Zaheer got into a verbal altercation over the issue. Harish and Gautam were injured in the melee and were admitted to the Bhadravati Government Hospital for treatment.
As news spread, youths from two communities gathered and fought over the issue resulting in stone-pelting near the hospital. During the clash, Aravind was injured while Rizwan was brutally stabbed.
The Badravathi police visited the spot and dispersed the crowd. Rizwan was admitted to McGann District Hospital in Shivamogga. A large number of police personnel were deployed to control the situation.
