CHIKKAMAGALUR: One of the 110 pilgrims from Kalasa, who were lucky to survive the horrific Balasore train accident, died of a heart attack on the return journey from the Jain pilgrim site of Sammed Shikharji in Giridih distric of Jharkhand.
Dharmapalaiah of Kalakodu village in Kalasa taluk, suffered a heart attack at Mirzapur railway station in Uttar Pradesh when the group was on its way back home. The body was shifted to the Mirzapur government hospital for post-mortem examination and the entire group is camping their. It is said that it will take at least two days for the body to reach the native village after the autopsy.
More than 270 people died and over 1,000 were injured in the train accident involving the Coromandel Express, the Yeshwantpur-Howrah Superfast Express and a goods train in Balasore district of Odisha last Friday evening. The group of 110 Jain pilgrims, which was in the Howrah train, luckily survived after their bogie was changed.
