A day after five people died, one more person succumbed to injuries.

BIDAR: A day after five people from Bidar, who were on their way from Prayagraj to Varanasi after attending the Maha Kumbh Mela, died in a road accident, one of the seven injured succumbed to injuries on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Sulochana (48).

A group of 14 people, including some children in Ladageri in Bidar, had gone to Prayagraj in a Force Toofan passenger vehicle. The vehicle crashed into a truck on the highway about 20 km away from Varanasi near Rupapur in Hardoi district.

While the injured are being treated a local hospital, the bodies of the deceased are likely to be airlifted to Karnataka either late on Saturday or on Sunday. On Friday night, a police officer, an official from the district administration and relatives of the deceased had left for Uttar Pradesh by flight.
