KOPPAL: The Bengaluru police, who are probing the case related to obscene comments posted online against actor-politician Ramya have arrested one more youth from Singanala in Karatagi taluk. The arrested was identified as Manjunath.
The cyber crime police had earlier arrested five men for posting lewd comments about actress Ramya on social media. The incident occurred after Ramya posted about seeking justice for the murdered Renukaswamy of Chitradurga.
The police have been conducting searches in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Haveri, Chikkamagaluru and other locations. The police are taking the matter seriously and are warning others that making such obscene comments will not be tolerated.
Initially, Ramya had filed a complaint mentioning 43 accounts and later added five more accounts, bringing the total to 48 accounts. After the FIR was registered, many of the accounts were deleted.
However, the police wrote to the social media companies, requesting them to provide the IP addresses and account details. The companies complied, providing the police with all the necessary information, including details of the deleted accounts.
