BELAGAVI: One person died and six others were injured when the SUV they were travelling in overturned after the driver lost control on the Goa highway near Honakal Cross in Khanapur taluk on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Krishnaji Deshpande (60). He died on the way to hospital. The accident occurred when the car was coming from Dandeli to Belagavi and was completely crushed. Seven people were travelling in the SUV at that time, police said.
All the injured are residents of Mangalwarpet in Tilakwadi of Belagavi and are admitted to the Belagavi district hospital. The Khanapur police have registered a case.
