BENGALURU: A day after holding a 26-km roadshow in Bengaluru and addressing two rallies in Badami and Haveri, Prime Narendra Modi on Sunday held another roadshow in Bengaluru, covering distance of about 10 km. The PM started his roadshow from New Thippasandra by offering salutations to the statue of Bengaluru founder Kempegowda and ended it at Trinity Circle.

The PM, who was to travel by helicopter from the Headquarters Training Command of the Indian Air Force at Mehkri Circle to New Thippasandra, travelled by road from Raj Bhavan due to cloudy weather.

People had gathered in huge numbers right from early morning, carrying musical instruments including drums to get a glimpse of the Prime Minister. Folk artists too presented performances all along the route.

The convoy moved towards HAL 2nd stage, Old Madras Road, Halasur to culminate at Trinity Circle. Keeping the PM’s roadshow in mind, security was tightened in the city. Comapred to Saturday, the convoy moved relatively slower on Sunday so that people could get a better glimpse of the PM.

Like on Saturday, the crowds showered flower petals on the PM and he reciprocated by showering petals on them. Standing on a vehicle bedecked with flowers, PM Modi greeted the crowd gathered on both sides of the roads and on nearby buildings and raising loud chants of ‘Modi, Modi’, by waving at a large, enthusiastic crowd lined up on both sides of the route.

With the NEET exam scheduled later on Sunday afternoon, the BJP had changed the schedule of the weekend roadshows on the directions of the PM so as to not affect students taking up the test.

Before disembarking from the vehicle, PM Modi bowed to the crowds with folded hands several times. He later left Bengaluru by a special IAF helicopter and will address public meetings in Shimoga Rural and Nanjangud in Mysuru district.

After holding a a 26-km roadshow, covering, most parts of South Bengaluru on Saturday, PM Modi, tweeted, “If only words could describe what I just saw in Bengaluru! I bow to the people of this vibrant city for showering me with affection that I will cherish for my entire life”.

Sunday is the last day for public campaigning and the BJP campaign entered its last leg ahead of the state Assembly elections on May 10.
