Ola, Uber and Rapido reduce auto fares, minimum fare now Rs 45 for first 2 km

BENGALURU: Aggregators like Ola, Uber, and Rapido have reduced their autorickshaw fares on Wednesday after the Karnataka High Court instructed the Transport Department to fix the fare.

Ola, Uber and Rapido reduced the minimum fares to Rs 45 for first 2 kilometres.

The Ola, Uber and Rapido aggregators have reduced the minimum fare to Rs 45 for the first 2 kilometres. Earlier, they charged around Rs 80–100 as minimum fare for autorickshaws.

The Transport Department will have to submit a report on autorickshaw fares at the next court hearing.

The Karnataka High Court had slammed Ola, Uber, and Rapido aggregators for violating the Transport Department rules and also for fixing their own fares. On the instructions of the court, the Transport Department had to fix the fares for Ola, Uber, and Rapido aggregators by November 7. The department will now have to submit a report on autorickshaw fares to the court at the next hearing.
