BENGALURU: Incumbent Hassan Lok Sabha MP and JD(S) leader Prajwal Revanna, who is embroiled in the obscene video case, faces fresh trouble after a rape case was added to the other charges against him. This comes after one of the victims lodged a complaint with the special investigation team (SIT).

The victim also recorded her statement under CrPC 164 before a magistrate. Prajwal Revanna was booked in an alleged sexual harassment case on April 28 following complaints by his former house help. The case had been registered under Sections 354A, 354D, 506, and 509 of the IPC on charges of sexual harassment, intimidation and outraging the dignity of a woman.

A lookout notice has already been issued against Prajwal Revanna on Thursday and notices have already been issued to him to join the investigation. “Lookout notice has been issued. It has been informed that he (Prajwal Revanna) has to appear before the SIT. They (H D Revanna and Prajwal Revanna) have to appear as notice is given. If they don’t appear, they will be arrested”, Home Minister Parmeshwara said.

Prajwal Revannna is believed to be staying at Hyatt Regency in Dubai.

However, in a post on X a few days ago, Prajwal had posted, “As I am not in Bangalore to attend the inquiry, I have communicated to CID, Bangalore, through my advocate. The truth will prevail soon”, he said in the post on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Prajwal Revanna, who was believed to have fled to Germany, arrived in Dubai on Wednesday night and is staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel. He is likely to return to India today and present himself before the SIT.
