BENGALURU: After abruptly putting off the shifting of international operations to Terminal 2 (T2) at Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) late on Wednesday, the Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) has announced that the international operations will be shifted on September 12.
“After consultation with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders, BIAL announces that the commencement of international operations at Bengaluru airport’s Terminal 2 on September 12, 2023, from 10.45 am onwards. This decision has been taken after careful evaluation and consideration of various factors, including regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and passenger convenience”, a BIAL spokesperson said.
Late on Wednesday, BIAL said, “The proposed shifting of international operations to Terminal 2 at Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru on August 31, 2023, stands postponed… The last-minute decision was taken during the final preparedness review in order to provide an optimal and seamless transition for our passengers. International operations will continue to remain in Terminal 1 until further notice…” BIAL had said.
