MYSURU: The first list of nine elephants to take part in the Mysuru Dasara celebrations and Forest officials have finalised the first batch of elephants which will be heading to the city ahead of the festival.
Currently, nine elephants will start from the Veeranahosahalli elephant camp to take part in the Gajapayana, which will be held on September 1. They are Abhimanyu, Bhima and Mahendra from Nagarhole, Arjuna from Balle elephant camp, Dhananjaya, Vijaya and Gopi from Dubare elephant camp, Parthasarathy from Ramapura camp and Varalakshmi from Bheemanakatte camp.
