BENGALURU: Janata Dal (Secular) leader and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s son Nikhil Kumaraswamy shared an emotional  post on his Facebook page after unsuccessfully contesting the just concluded Assembly election from Ramanagara constituency.

Nikhil Kumaraswamy polled 76,975 votes, but lost to Congress candidate Iqbal Hussain by a margin of 10,715 votes.

On his Facebook page, he wrote, “I accept my defeat sensibly and will move forward. That is a lesson I learned from my beloved grandfather, H D Deve Gowda saheb, and my father H D Kumaraswamy. I stumbled, but I will get up and run again. I know your love and affection, how you people lift a child after it falls to the ground”.

“On this occasion, I remember the brothers, the public, who blessed our party, Janata Dal (Secular), in different areas of the state. It is not in our character to run away from people because of defeat. We will learn from this defeat and bounce back”. In his parting shot, he thanked everyone.
