NIA arrests another accused in Praveen Nettaru’s murder case

BENGALURU: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested another accused in connection with the BJP Yuva Morcha worker Praveen Nettaru murder case in the city on Sunday.

The arrested accused has been identified as Thufail, a resident of Madikeri. The NIA arrested him around 9.30 pm on Saturday night from Dasarahalli under Amruthahalli police limits. The NIA had announced a Rs 5 lakh reward for information about Thufail.

Earlier, the NIA had submitted a 1,500-page detailed chargesheet with the statements of 240 witnesses and listed 20 persons as accused.

On the night of July 26 last year, three people came on a two-wheeler and hacked 32-year-old Praveen Nettaru to death outside his chicken shop off the Puttur-Sullia Road at Bellare in Mangaluru.
