BENGALURU: In another big shock after the milk price hike, the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has hike Nandini curd price increased by 14 Rs per litre. The new rates will be officially implemented from November 1.

While the previous rate for 50o ml of curds was Rs 28, it has now been revised to Rs 34. For one litre of curds, the earlier price was Rs 54 and it has now increased to Rs 68.

This is the third time curd price has been hike in Karnataka in the last three-and-half-years with a total increase of Rs 24. At the start of 2023, curd was priced at Rs 44 per litre and it has been increased to Rs 68 per litre in November 2026.

While consumers are already upset about the milk price hike, vendors still have no information about curd price increase as KMF has sent them only milk price hike list. “This is a big shock for middle class people. How can they suddenly increase the price of milk by Rs 8 per litre and curd by Rs 14 litre? The government has not thought about consumers”, said an angry housewife.

There is strong opposition to the hike in curd prices from hotel owners who say that it is like rubbing salt on a wound. Hoteliers, who were bracing for the milk price hike are now distressed due to the curd price hike.
