‘Names will be omitted from draft electoral roll if SIR form is not returned’: Additional district election officer K N Ramesh

BENGALURU: The Additional District Election Officer and Bengaluru South City Corporation Commissioner K N Ramesh has stated that the process of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) visiting door-to-door to distribute enumeration forms, collecting the filled-in applications, and digitizing the completed forms is currently under way in connection with the special summary revision of the electoral roll in corporation limits.

As part of the special revision, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are personally visiting voters’ homes to distribute enumeration forms. Voters are requested to fill in all the details required in those forms and mandatorily return them only to the BLOs.

To assist the public in understanding how to fill out the form, voters can watch the instructional guidance videos available on the official YouTube channel of the Election Commission of India. He informed that step-by-step videos detailing how to fill out the form are available on the Commission’s channel.

Strict measures are being taken as per the directions of the Election Commission of India to maintain the accuracy of the voter list. If voters fail to fill out and return the enumeration form provided by the BLOs, their names will be removed from the electoral rolls, the commissioner noted. Therefore, the public must cooperate responsibly without neglecting this process.
