Mudhol priest Gurunath Joshi will be performing Mandalotsava puja at the Ayodhya Ram temple on February 15 and 16.

BAGALKOT: Mudhol priest Gurunath Joshi will be conducting the Mandalaradhana puja at the Ayodhya Ram temple on February 15 and 16.

A native of Machakanur in Mudhol taluk, Gurunath Joshi is now based in Mudhol town. He underwent schooling at the Chidambara Veda Samskrutha Pathashala at Murgod and has researched the Shukla Yajur Veda.

Mandalaradhana puja at the Ayodhya Ram temple is being conducted for 48 days since the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol and Gurunath Joshi was picked to conduct the puja for two days by Udupi Pejawar Math seer Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Swami.

Gurunath Joshi hails from a family of priests and also runs the Sadhguru Sri Chidambara Vaidika Jyothishyalaya in Mudhol town. “It is a matter of great pride that I am getting this opportunity. Our entire family and all Ram bhakts in Mudhol are happy”, he said.
