MANGALURU: A few motorists, looking to click selfies with a tusker grazing in the background got the scare of their lives when the elephant suddenly charged at them. Luckily, no one was hurt as the elephant walked away.
The incident occurred at the fourth bend along the Charmadi Ghat in Dakshina Kannada district on Wednesday. The tusker had blocked the highway, resulting in vehicles lining up for some distance on the road.
Seizing the opportunity, some motorists got off their vehicles to click photos, videos and selfies on their mobile phones. The elephant, which was grazing, seemed unmoved for a little while, but got annoyed when some of the people started moving closer and suddenly charged at them. Luckily, there was no untoward incident.
