HASSAN: A bike rider escaped narrowly an attack by a wild elephant on Sunday night near Kirehalli village in Sakleshpur taluk of Hassan district.
Chetan of Katalli village was coming near Srinivasa estate on a bike when a wild elephant suddenly attacked him. Chetan dumped his motorcycle on the road and fled the scene to save his life. The elephant damaged the bike while Chetan sustained some minor injuries due to the fall.
The Forest department staff visited the place on Monday morning and instructed the people travelling through Katalli, Kirehalli, Masavalli route to be more careful while using the road, especially after dusk.
