Motorcycle rider dies after speeding BMTC bus knocks him down

NELAMANGALA: A motorcycle rider died on the spot after a speeding BMTC bus collided with the bike at Binnamangala near Nelamangala on Saturday.

Sources said, the BMTC bus hit the two-wheeler from behind and the biker fell to the ground and died on the spot. The Nelamangala traffic police visited the spot and registered a case.

Earlier, an engineering student was killed by a BMTC bus near Govardhan theatre in Yeshwantpur. Gangadhar (21) was on his way to get his internship certificate from HAL when an accident occurred. Gangadhar was riding a two-wheeler when a BMTC bus hit him from behind.

Prior to this, another BMTC bus rammed into a two-wheeler from behind and a three-year-old child died on the spot. The incident took place at Garepalaya Junction in the city. After repeated accidents by BMTC buses, citizens are venting their ire saying overspeeding by BMTC drivers is the major cause of such incidents.
