BENGALURU: The state government is set to introduce moral science education from June as part of its efforts to impart education along with human values.
The Education Department plans to achieve this by incorporating moral science education textbooks into the existing curriculum from the upcoming academic year.
A committee will be formed to come up with these textbooks, which will cover essential topics such as family, mutual adjustment, distinguishing right from wrong, and social welfare. The moral education curriculum is likely to include engaging lessons, anecdotes and stories to drive home important values, sources said.
Notably, the Education Department has also decided to include sex education in the moral education curriculum, emphasizing its significance.
