Modi and Shah to hold roadshows, rallies in state over 18 days

BENGALURU: With the election campaign heat rising in Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amith Shah have planned to hold 25 roadshows and rallies spread over 18 days in the North Karnataka districts.

PM Modi’s tour will begin on April 23. Party sources said that this time, the BJP will focus on North Karnataka where this is resentment over ticket distribution and migration of Lingayat leaders. Amit Shah will remain in Karnataka from April 25 to May 8 and has taken up a house in Bengaluru on rent where he will stay until the election is over.

The two leaders will be visiting Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kalaburagi, Bidar, Hubballi-Dharwad, Belagavi and Tumakuru and also other districts, including Vijayapura, where they will participate in rallies, public meetings and roadshows. The party has drawn up a plan to organise a 50-km grand roadshow in Bengaluru.

Amith Shah will execute his strategies by staying put in Bengaluru and draw up plan to raise the pitch in favour of the BJP in the Karnataka. The visits by the two leaders to various districts will assume more significance as the campaigning heats up in the state.
