CHAMARAJANAGAR, RAMANAGARA: The car belonging to the brother-in-law of MLC and former minister MLC CP Yogeshwar was found abandoned in Ramapura in Hanur taluk. However, there was not sign of Mahadevappa, a realtor and businessman. Mahadevaiah went missing suspiciously from his farm house on December 1.
Mahadevaiah (58) is married to Yogeshwar’s sister Pushpa a realtor and businessman. He lives in Bengaluru with his family, but had gone to his farmhouse on the outskirts of Vaddaradoddy in Channapatna taluk on Friday and stayed there. His mobile phone has been switched off after he received a call from an unknown person.
Mahadevaiah’s disappearance has raised many questions and police suspect that he was abducted from the farmhouse itself. The door of the farmhouse was broken, and the cupboard, clothes and household items in the room were scattered. His car was also missing. Police, fingerprint experts, the FSL team, and the dog squad had checked the place and a case had been registered at the Channapatna Rural police station.
The boot of the Maruti Brezza car had blood stains, giving grist to suspicion that he may have been kidnapped. Mahadevaiah is involved in litigation over land deals and it is suspected that he may have been kidnapped over the issue.
Forensic teams have examined the car, which has now been brought to the Ramapura police station. The police have formed four teams to trace the missing businessman. They are also anaylising CCTV footage to ascertain the route he may have taken before reaching Ramapura.
Meanwhile, Yogeshwar visited Ramapura and was briefed by the police.
