GADAG: A woman from Totaganti village in Gadag district who had been missing from her house early in the morning three days ago was found alive in a 60-foot-deep well.
Parvathi Veerayya Kalmath was rescued from the well by farm labourers. She claimed that an unknown woman approached her outside her house while she was sweeping the house on the day she went missing.
Parvathi said she offered her mangalsutra, bangles and toe ring to the unidentified woman, but the latter refused. The woman reportedly said that she does want anything, but her. Then Parvati tried to tell husband and close the door before leaving the house, but she was not allowed to do so. The woman forcefully closed her eyes, held her by the neck and pushed her into the well in a field, which is located one-and-half km from the village, Parvathi claimed.
Parvathi said she did not know what happened next. When she regained consciousness the next day, it was raining. There were no gold ornaments with her except left toe ring when she woke up. She screamed and cried for help, but no one heard her. On the third day, labourers working in the field heard her cries and found her in the well. After initial treatment at a local hospital, she was admitted to the Gadag district hospital for further treatment.
The well is about 60-feet deep and the woman survived as there was no water in it. A case had been filed at the Naregal police station regarding the missing woman
