BENGALURU: Miscreants blocked a cash van that was on its way to load money in ATMs, right in the middle of the road after it allegedly scraped a two-wheeler, on Wednesday night. The vehicle was carrying Rs 1.79 crore in cash and the cash management company arranged another vehicle to transport the cash.

The incident took place on the Bannerghatta-Jigani main road on the outskirts of Bengaluru. A gunman, a driver and one staff member were in the cash van when the incident occurred.

When the cash van was taking a U-turn, miscreants blocked it and created a ruckus claiming that it had touched their bike. The men stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road and started shouting at them. As soon as people gathered at the spot, the miscreants snatched the bike and escaped. The miscreants also stole the keys of the cash van and fled.

It is suspected that they were planning to steal the money in the cash van. Eyewitnesses allege that the miscreants were waiting to commit the crime. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media. The incident occurred in Bannerghatta police limits.
