VIJAYPURA: A young couple, who were said to be in love for the past one year, paid with their lives as the minor girl’s family was opposed to the relationship. Though the incident occurred on September 22, it has come to light only now.
It is said that the two fell in love while commuting by bus. Due to opposition from her family, the minor girl committed suicide by consuming poison. Upset that his daughter had died, the father is believed to have killed the boyfriend. The father claimed that the youth had encouraged his daughter to end her life which is why he murdered the latter.
The girl hailed from Kallakavatagi in Tikota taluk while Mallu Jamkhandi hailed from Ghonasagi village.
