BENGALURU: Minister for Muzrai, Wakf and Haj, Shashikala Jolle on Friday presented a wooden sculpture on Kamadhenu made in the traditional Kinnal art form at the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Bengaluru City Railway Station.

The sculpture was presented to him to mark joining hands with the ‘Vocal for Local’ call given by the PM. Kinnal art is a traditional wooden craft of Kinnal town in Koppal district, known for its toys and religious idols.

The Kamadhenu idol was created by artisans of Kinnal and was presented to the PM during the flagging-off of the Bharat Gaurav Kashi Darshan train. Modi also inquired about the art form. Minister Shashikala Jolle said Kinnal art originated during the Vijayanagar empire and hoped that it would get more encouragement.
