BENGALURU: Home Minister Parameshwara refused to comment on a PIL filed by Chinnaiah and the others being dismissed by the Supreme Court, saying he wasn’t aware of the details and would respond after getting information.
When asked about it, Parameshwar said, “I will not comment on it. I do not know about it. I will speak after knowing. If I do not speak after knowing, you will say that the minister does not know anything. I will speak after knowing”. He replied that when CM Siddaramaiah was asked this question, he got into the car without giving any response.
The group had filed PIL seeking formation of an SIT to investigate the alleged Dharmasthala mass burial case on April 30. However, the Supreme Court dismissed the petition on May 5 for lacking public interest and rapping the group showing personal interest.
The court observed that the petition was driven by monetary, political or private interests and had lost all sense of dignity and decorum. Despite this, the group concealed the information and filed a petition in the Belthangady court which recorded Chinnaiah’s statement.
Following this, the Dakshina Kannada police filed a petition to conduct a narco test on Chinnaiah. Amidst this development, the government suddenly announced the formation of an SIT headed by DGP Pronab Mohanty.
