BENGALURU: Days after Public TV reported the plight of Sandeep, who is battling for life after being involved in a two-wheeler accident while attempting to avoid a pothole near Gangammanagudi Circle, and his wife’s desperate hunt for a hospital bed, Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar took note of it and has arranged a bed for Sandeep at Victorial Hospital for the better treatment.

Sandeep’s wife Seema had shared her agony with Public TV recently, saying that she was not in a position to afford medical charges as he is undergoing treatment at the ICU at the private hospital. There is no other breadwinner in her family, she said, and alleged that the BBMP was the cause for her husband’s situation.

According to the Seema, Sandeep met with a bike accident on November 1 while trying to avoid a pothole near Gangammanagudi Circle. He sustained serious head injuries, and some locals rushed him to a private hospital. Sandeep’s medical report says he has sustained a brain injury and is now in a state of coma. His situation is only worsening day by day, and he is breathing with the help of a ventilator.

Dr Sudhakar, Health and Medical Education minister

Health and Medical Education Minister Dr Sudhakar, said, “A bed has already been arranged for the patient Sandeep at Victoria Hospital. I will speak to the dean of the hospital to give quality treatment and I will wish him for soon recovery”.

“Government hospitals are giving a new lease of life to many patients and the doctors and staff are providing good service. But, in some government hospitals, there are problems with some officials. They defamed the good name of government hospitals and they have created a bad impression about the government health system. Hence, we have given suggestions to the deans of all institutions to improve the situaton. We will bring changes in health system in coming days and we will implement tough rules to making the system even better,” he added.
