Minar falls on high-tension line during demolition for road widening work

MANGALURU: A minar of a masjid fell on a live high-tension line while it was being demolished for work on widening of the national highway at Nullippadi on the outskirts of Kasargod, Kerala, on Wednesday.

Local residents, motorists and workers narrowly escaped the huge disaster on the highway.

Minar collapsed on high-tension for without taking any precautionary measures.

The incident occurred when the bulldozer demolished the Minar of a masjid without taking any precautionary measures. Several electric poles were also damaged.

Motorists on the Kasaragod-Cherkala road had to put up with a traffic block for some time due to the incident. Fire station officials, KSEB officers cleared the debris of the minar from the road and made way for traffic flow.
