The temple near the Hebbagodi temple was dismantled in the dead of the night.

BENGALURU: The Namma Metro authorities have overnight demolished an Anjaneya temple near the Hebbagodi police station on Hosur Road.

The metro authorities dismantled the temple after seeking police protection and began the work around 1 am while keeping the area covered with pandals.

Earlier, locals had built a small temple on the land where the ancient temple stood after the Metro authorities parted with some land. But now, even that has been removed and the idols taken away by the Metro and police officials.
