BIDAR: The Mantala police here have succeeded in arresting a thief who involved in multiple cases and who had been on the run for the last 14 years.
The accused Lakshman Sopan Pawar is on the ‘Most Wanted’ list in robbery cases and hails from Herolli village in Aland taluk of Kalaburagi district.
The accused had stolen Rs 80,000 cash and gold jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh from the house of Jayaprakash Mantala at Ellad Gundi village of Basavakalyan taluk in 2009 and had attacked the security guard who tried to stop him.
Jayaprakash Mantala lodged a complaint at the police station in 2009. The Mantala police have now arrested the accused based on the confirmed information. He was produced before court and remanded to judicial custody.
