MANGALURU: The health condition of Mangaluru cooker blast accused Mohammed Shariq health has noticeably improved, and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is planning to take him into custody after consultation with doctors.
The doctors have informed the NIA that Shariq’s health has improved by 80 per cent and he is now able to walk by himeself. Shariq was admitted to a private hospital in the city after he sustained burns in a cooker blast in a moving autorickshaw.
The low-intensity explosion had caused injuries to both the passenger, Mohammed Shariq, who was carrying a pressure cooker IED and the autorickshaw driver Purushottam Poojari. The cooker bomb was designed for a major attack to fuel communal tensions in the coastal region and in the state, but had exploded mistakenly.
