Mandya Congress aspirant declares himself as official candidate on social media post

MANDYA: A Congress ticket aspirant from Mandy has gone ahead and declared himself as the party candidate for the upcoming Assembly polls on social media even before the party announces its first list of candidates.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar on Tuesday visited the Adichunchanagiri Mutt ahead of Ugadi celebration, to offer prayers along with his family members. Dr Krishna, who is an aspirant for the party ticket, was seen with Shivakumar during the temple visit.

Later on, he put up a post on Facebook claiming to be the party candidate and added that he had even joined the puja along with Shivakumar. It is interesting to note that there are 16 aspirants in the Congress for the Mandya Assembly seat, but Dr Krishna has gone ahead and declared himself as the official candidate.
