Man who ate gobi manchurian on Namma Metro penalised, faces police complaint

BENGALURU: The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has fined a passenger, who ate gobi manchurian inside a Namma Metro train. A video of the passenger eating gobi manchurian went viral on social media a few days ago.

The BMRCL officials imposed a fine of Rs 500 on the passenger for violating Metro rules after the incident came to light. Checking of baggage before traveling by Metro train is very strict, unlike KSRTC and BMTC buses and consumption of food items is not allowed inside Metro trains.

In the video captured by his friends, a metro commuter is seen eating gobi manchurian at Jayanagar Metro station as he was hungry. The man had got a parcel before boarding the train. In the video, his friends can be heard telling him that eating inside the Metro is not allowed, but he keeps eating, disregarding the rules. A fellow passenger complained to the security staff of the BMRCL. Based on his photo and travel history, he was apprehended and fined Rs 500.

Apart from imposing a fine of Rs 500, the BMRCL also filed a complaint against him at the Jayanagar police station. After the complaint was lodged, the police inquired about his background and questioned why he violated rules. At present, the police have released him after complete interrogation.
