CHIKKABALLAPUR: A man, who was under the influence of marijuana (ganja), stabbed six strangers in the town on Sunday night. All the injured are being treated in hospitals. Within four hours of the incident, the Chikkaballapur police managed to identify the attacker and arrest him.
Arjun, a resident of the town, lives like a tramp. Three days ago, he was sleeping at a temple in Kandavara and robbed a mobile phone from a man who was sleeping next to him by threatening him with a knife. However, four youths beat him up and recovered the phone.
On Sunday, he created a ruckus near the Junior College and stabbed six passersby. He was later tracked down to a temple at Thippenahalli and arrested. The police also recovered several knives and a motorcycle used by Arjun.
Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar, who tweeted about the incident, stated that he will bear the cost of the treatment of those injured. He also congratulated the police for apprehending the attacker quickly.
