BENGALURU: A man allegedly tortured his roommate’s pet cat in BTM Layout. The pet owner, Aftab, a resident of BTM Layout 2nd Stage, Bengaluru, lived with his friend Manish Rathnakar and a kitten. However, Aftab’s roommate had a problem with animals.

Aftab has accused his roommate Manish of allegedly badly beating up his pet cat ‘Zara’ around 10 pm on November 26, and throwing her in a bucket on the terrace when he was not at home. Manish is addicted to alcohol and has anger issues, Aftab claimed.

The roommate allegedly beat the kitten brutally, injuring its nose, eyes and mouth, causing it to bleed. Then the kitten was taken to a veterinary hospital in Jayanagar, where it was found that it had hearing problems and heart issues.

Aftab filed a complaint against Manish at the Mico Layout police station with the help of the Anti-Cruelty Cell. An FIR has been registered against Manish, and further investigation is on.

In a post on social media, Aftab tagged his roommate, the Anti-Cruelty Cell along with the Bengaluru City Police and the Deputy Commissioner of Police, seeking strict action against him. As soon as Aftab shared the incident on his social media account, his roommate went missing.
