CHITRADURGA: A man was sent to jail for not being able to pay a fine imposed by court for violating traffic rules, in the city on Wednesday.
The accused has been identified as Ravikumar, a labourer in the city market. On February 2, the city traffic police registered a case against him for drunk driving and not wearing a helmet on Medehalli Road.
The CJM and JMFC court imposed a fine of Rs 20,500. Ravikumar was unable to pay the fine, so the court imposed a Rs 10 and Rs 250 fine. But he could not pay the fine and he was sent to jail, where he is currently in judicial custody.
