Man partying with friends near railway track dies after coming under train

BENGALURU: A man who had gone to his friend’s house for Vijayadashami festival, died after he came under a train near Aravantigepura railway gate close to Anekal. The deceased was identified as Ramu (40), hailing from Chitradurga.

Ramu was working with a well-known food products brand in Bommasandra and was partying with his friends near the railway track. In a drunken state, he tried to cross the railway track and did not notice an oncoming train.

The body was torn to bits due to the impact and was shifted to a morgue at a private hospital. The Baiyappanahalli railway police have registered a case.

In another incident, a youth was suspiciously found dead in a pit near a bar close to Hulimangala Cross on the outskirts of the city. The deceased was identified as Sudeep (23), a resident of Singena Agrahara.

According to the police, on Sunday, he informed his family members that he was going to take part in the Dasara celebrations and after the puja, he went with his friends to consume liquor. It is suspected that he may have fallen into the pit while urinating, they said.

However, the parents suspect murder and have demanded a detailed investigation and to ensure justice. The Hebbagodi police visited the spot and have taken up further investigation. The body was shifted to Oxford Hospital in Attibele for autopsy.
