BALLARI: A man murdered his wife by strangulating her over a marital dispute at their house at Ittigi in Hoovina Hadagali taluk of Vijayanagar district. He later surrendered before the Ittigi police and admitted to the crime.
The deceased is Dimple (36) who hailed from Madapura village in HD Kote taluk of Mysuru district. She was working as the community health officer at the primary health centre in Ulavatti village of Hagaribommanagalli taluk.
The husband Srikanth, who hails from Kogali thanda in Hagaribommanagalli taluk, was working as the community health officer at the primary health centre in Nellukuduri village. While this was Dimple’s third marriage, it was the second marriage for Srikanth.
The couple were living in Ittigi village and have two children. It is said that the couple were living a normal life initially, but had started quarrelling of late. The Ittigi police visited the spot and have registered a case.
