BENGALURU: A man who was missing for 10 days was found murdered and his body dumped near Byranahalli in Malur taluk of Kolar district.

The deceased is Nandish, a resident of Doddanallurahalli village in Hoskote taluk. He is working as a labour contractor for several companies and had helped many people get jobs.

The police took the accused Pratap (striped T-shirt) to Byranahalli to identify the place where he had buried Nandish’s body.

He had been missing for the last 10 days and his family members had lodged a missing person’s complaint at the police station. After looking for him everywhere, the police, on a hunch, questioned Pratap from the neighbouring village who then confessed that he killed Nandish and buried the body at Byranahalli in Malur taluk. The police took him to the spot, excavated the body and sent it to conduct post-mortem examination.

Curious villager had gathered when the police were exhuming body of Nandish.

According to police sources, Nandish had left home for work last Friday with Rs 4 lakh to be distributed as wages, but never returned. The police feel that Pratap may have murdered Nandish as he may have suspected the latter of having an affair with his wife, but they are yet to establish the exact motive for the murder. Nandish’s family has demanded justice over his murder.

Hoskote taluk panchayat president and Nandish’s relative Sujatha said, “Nandish is a soft-spoken and nice person. He had concern about women. He started his career at Nidaghatta and had helped many people get jobs. Nandish was the only breadwinner in his family. The accused should get strict punishment and this should not happen to any other person”, she added.

A friend of Nandish said, “Nandish was a really nice person and known for social service. But some people killed him with deceit. His children are studying and this is a very unfortunate death. The family should get justice”.
