Man killed in clash between two groups over old rivalry

RAICHUR: A man was killed in a clash between two groups in Machanur village in Sirwar taluk of Raichur district. The incident occurred due to an old rivalry. The deceased has been identified as Sameer (29).

Previously, a fight had broken out between the two groups during the Muharram celebrations. On the day of the incident, a verbal altercation ensued between the two groups at the government high school premises, leading to a physical fight. Sameer was severely assaulted, resulting in his death at the scene.

After the incident, the accused fled. The police visited the place to conduct an investigation. A case has been registered at the Sirwar police station.
