Man injured in scuffle with police personnel

The man sustained injuries when he was being bundled into a police vehicle.

KOLAR: A former gram panchayat member was injured after he was manhandled by the police near a polling station at Kooteri village in the taluk on Wednesday.

A woman police sub-inspector directed the villagers not to sit near the polling station and to move 100 metres away. However, Srikrishnappa, did not heed the police. When they were trying to bundle him into a police vehicle, Srikrishnappa sustained injuries in the head.

Villagers mobbed the police vehicle and also manhandled a policeman.

Angered by this, the villagers mobbed the police vehicle and even manhandled a policeman. The injured was later shifted to the Kolar district hospital for treatment.
